CONCERT REVIEW > On the afternoon of August 6th, Terramara played at a private party in our backyard before a very appreciative crowd of about 150. To use a sports analogy, these guys came to play! It not always easy introducing folks to original music but the band won the crowd over from the first song on. The sight of little kids dancing on the stage (our back deck) and oldsters grooving to the tunes in their lawn chairs created a magical vibe on this near perfect afternoon. In addition to the catalogue of Terramara favorites, Rob and the boys threw in a few well placed Steely Dan and Sting covers, which really lit up the crowd. The band seemed to be enjoying themselves as much as the crowd.
With about a half hour to go in the concert, the local police showed up. They said they'd had a complaint but also added that they had heard the music from a half mile away and "it sounded pretty good". Of course, the arrival of the cops made the party an complete success. I promised the cops the band would "tone it down" if they would let them finish the show. The band then rocked out (with the volume unchanged) for the final 30 minutes. We'd like to thank James, Dave, Karl and especialy Rob for making this a party we'll never forget. Terramara has a gained a lot of new fans from the unlikliest of places, suburbia. Thanks for everything.
