RIFT SONGWRITING CONTEST RESULTS > Rob didn't emerge victorious in the contest, but it was a blast hanging out listening and playing for so many great songwriters at the Bryant Lake Bowl last night. The song I wrote is called Bartista (the official term for the person brewing the coffee), and I'm posting a demo of it here so you can check it out. Enjoy!

Lyrics too:

Barista

Chorus
Barista, better brew me up a strong one
My eyes are drooping, but my heart is on fire
She said she'd meet me at the table by the window
She's running kinda late, but I'm sure she will show

Verse1
While I'm waiting I guess l'll have another latte
Better make it two cuz I know she'll want some too
On second thought, make it mocha with some body
Pump it full of chocolate and a mountain of whip cream

Chorus

Verse2
Make me another of those double cappacinos
No make it black now, I'll add the cream and sugar myself
Wait, I'm feeling hot now, better make it frappacino
I know my hand was shaking when you gave me the change

Chorus

Verse3
I'm really quite alert now and ready for some conversation, revelation, observation
I'll take a muffin and some chai if you have that too
I know she wants to talk me, or did I hear some reservation
When she left the message on my phone

Verse4
Give me Caramel Macchiato, Americano, or Cubano
Expresso Romano with a nice big piece of pie
Give me French roast, Continental roast, Viennese roast with a thin slice of toast
Give me grande granita, senorita, and a fat turkey sandwich on a piece of pita
Freeze-dried, purified, emulsified, stratified
And I'm petrified and ready to slide right out the door

Chorus

DUST & FICTION > Terramara's latest release is its most sonically rich album yet. While retaining its signature sound: melodic piano-based pop songs with refreshing harmonic twists and lush harmonies, the band has expanded its palette of sounds to create an album that shimmers with layered guitars and keyboards. Listen to this one with headphones. {read more}
