CD REVIEW ON ARTISTSILOVE > Thanks to Tom McCready over at Artists I Love for the CD review. Here it is:

When you slip this CD into your player, the first thing that strikes you when listening to the opening song 'Fate Won't Wait', is how tight this band is. Minnesota band Terramara has released an exceptionally well-done CD called 'Dust & Fiction'. Twelve crisp, melodic songs, beautifully produced by Jon Herchert make this a CD we highly recommend.

'The Other Shoe' and 'Blue Revolution' grabs you by the seat of the pants and refuses to let go. The fourth track, 'Solar Meltdown', exemplifies the bands approach ie. smart lyrics and powerpop melodies combining to satisfy the discerning ear. 'All That I Am' 'Screaming At The Pouring Rain', and 'Burn Me Up' are all reminiscent of post-Peter Gabriel Genesis.

Rob Meany, the voice and songwriter of the band, gives a soulful and heartfelt performance throughout, especially on the angst driven track 'Burn Me Up'. The final track 'Losing My Mind' is a funky tune which shows off the chops of these great veteran musicians. Terramara puts it all on the table on this CD, and each song reveals a new musical delight.

Rob Meany (vocals, piano and keyboards), David Thomas (drums), Karl Koopman (guitar), and James Towns (bass), along with many guest musicians, team up to make this Minnesota bands third full-length CD a must-have for those who like their music edgy and creative.

DUST & FICTION > Terramara's latest release is its most sonically rich album yet. While retaining its signature sound: melodic piano-based pop songs with refreshing harmonic twists and lush harmonies, the band has expanded its palette of sounds to create an album that shimmers with layered guitars and keyboards. Listen to this one with headphones. {read more}
